ZACCI represents the interest of the private sector in a whole towards the government. Due to its membership of companies from all sizes, all sectors which are spread all over Zambia it addresses cross-cutting issues which are in the interest of the entire business community. ZACCI has different approaches to influence the business environment to the benefit of the private sector. ZACCI spearheads the Zambia Private Sector Alliance (ZPSA) which was founded in 2013. Members are all leading private sector organisations in Zambia. Their aim is to speak with one united voice to support a conducive business environment which enables growth. In a proactive manner the ZPSA formulates a business agenda as a demand catalogue from the united private sector to convince government to implement changes in its policy.
In addition ZACCI is in constant dialogue with the government on all levels to exchange views about draed laws, statutory instruments and other state decisions. Members have the opportunity to comment government’s plans in a very early stage and influence plans in their favour. ZACCI keeps all members permanently in the loop.
ZACCI and its members submit a consolidated view and proposals to the national budget every year and therefore have a say in the most important policy paper in Zambia.
